FA 0621 - ART OF CHINA Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course introduces students to the rich artistic and cultural traditions of Asia, particularly China, but also India and Japan. Singular monuments of great importance receive intensive study, such as the Great Stupa at Sanchi, Taj Mahal, Angkor Wat, the Forbidden City and the Ise Grand Shrine. Other major topics include Chinese bronze ritual object, Hindu architecture, Chinese scroll painting and Japanese prints.
