ENGLIT 0634 - LIVING ON THE EDGE: LITERATURE ON THE EXTREME Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course explores the radical literature that pushes cultural and social boundaries and compels readers to contemplate the impact of transgressive fictional characters who reject the conventional perspectives of their contemporaries and establish new possibilities for social discourse. It asks students to investigate the revolutionary power of literature and consider whether it inspires social and cultural change or whether it reinforces cultural mores.
