Criminal Justice, BA

Criminal Justice covers the causes, mechanisms, and consequences of criminal behavior, the systems designed to control, prevent, detect, and punish criminal activity, and the administration of services to victims of crime. All students will learn about the various theories of crime, the ways in which crime is carried out, the different elements of the criminal justice system, and modern approaches to dealing with crime and will then get to choose an area of concentration that best aligns with their academic or career interests. A degree in Criminal Justice can prepare students for a wide range of justice-related careers including law/law school, law enforcement, corrections, victim services, cyber security, politics, and policy or program analysis.

Students electing Criminal Justice as a major must earn the following:
