IS 1415 - Web Development Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course is intended to provide the basis needed for students to become a web professional or a key contributor to web application decisions made by an organization. Students will gain front-end web development skills, positioning them to become a Front-end Web Developer, Web/User Experience Designer, Web System Analyst, or Website/E-commerce site content manager. Knowledge of the web will be critical as no matter what career is pursued, as the web is the platform of the present & future.
Proper HTML & CSS conventions will be learned as these web technologies are leveraged in the construction of user interfaces. JavaScript & jQuery will be introduced late in the course to come full circle on the technologies used in front-end web development. Along the way, useful development tools, browser nuances & the evolution of web standards will be discovered by the students as their knowledge of website development grows.
