NUR 1070 - INTRO TO NURSING SCIENCE Minimum Credits: 2 Maximum Credits: 2 This course provides the adult student with an introduction to the scientific and theoretical basis of professional nursing. Historical influences through contemporary influences on nursing as an applied science are examined. Specific theories of nursing, physiology, and psychology along with research findings, which serve as the scientific basis of nursing practice, are analyzed. The roles of the professional nurse as advocate, educator, researcher, and change agent are examined within the context of the changing health care system.
