ENGR 0132 - STATICS Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The principal objective of this course is to develop the ability to analyze any problem in a logical manner and to document that analysis in a clear and orderly fashion. Concepts to be studied include equilibrium of two- and three-dimensional force systems acting on rigid bodies as well as particles, plane trusses and frames, centroids and centers of gravity, elementary principles of dry friction, and moments of inertia of both areas and masses. The use of free-body-diagrams is stressed.
