HUMAN 0334 - AMERICAN WRITERS AND THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Through close readings of the texts, the students will have a better understanding of the events, places, and participants involved in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). This class will focus on, for the most part, American writers, journalists, and artists who actively engaged in the rhetoric of conflict in Spain. Students will acquire a cursory background knowledge of the political, social, nationalistic, and cultural forces that defined this struggle.
