MUSIC 0801 - HISTORY OF ROCK AND ROLL Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course examines the origins of Rock and Roll from its earliest influences, such as work songs and the Blues, and will follow its development as a musical genre. Students will then learn about the different musical genres that are spawned from the development of Rock and Roll. Critical listening of the music is required for this course. Students will also be exposed to general music elements such as rhythm, form, harmony and melody. This course assumes no prior musical knowledge.
