SOC 0300 - SOCIAL RESEARCH METHODS Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 An introduction to qualitative and quantitative methods used in the social sciences. The first third of the course covers ethical issues in social research, defining a topic, developing theory, conceptualization and operationalization. The second third of the course covers specific methods: survey, experiment, observation, the use of existing data and program evaluation. The final third of the course covers the logic of analysis as well as writing up and presenting research results. Examples drawn from various social science disciplines.
