PS 1508 - INTERNATIONAL TERRORISMMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course provides an introduction and overview of terrorism studies. Topics include: the history and development of modern terrorism (including the rise of religious terrorism in the last half of the 20th century); the psychology of terrorism including suicide terrorists; American domestic terrorism; and an examination of the problems of counterterrorism in a democratic society. The guiding thread for the course the difficulty of defining terrorism and what separates this political violence from guerrilla warfare and insurgencies.
