CHEM 1132 - PHYSICAL-INORGNC CHEMSTRY LABMinimum Credits: 2 Maximum Credits: 2 This laboratory focuses on synthesis and characterization of inorganic species. Representative examples of transition metal coordination complexes, organometallic, and main group compounds are prepared using various synthetic techniques on a micro and semi-micro scale. Spectroscopic and electrochemical methods are employed: to examine reaction kinetics, study molecular dynamics (fluxional molecules), and for structural characterization. Equal emphasis on theory and application. Selected preparations from the current inorganic literature are included.
