CHEM 0080 - CHEMISTRY, MAN, AND SOCIETYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Course is designed primarily for students with no prior chemistry background and focuses on the intricate link between chemistry and societal, political, economic, and ethical issues of daily life. The course has two goals: (1) equip students with the tools necessary to understand the chemistry of everyday life and (2) develop critical thinking skills necessary to assess the risks and benefits of chemical developments and technology-based issues. After receiving credit with a grade of c or higher for general chemistry 1 or any higher numbered chemistry course, a student may not enroll in or receive credit (or equivalent transfer credits) for this course.
