SOC 1512 - GLOBAL SOCIAL IMPACT APPRENTICEMinimum Credits: 6 Maximum Credits: 6 This course is a full-time, immersive apprenticeship placement in Cape Town through the Take Action Lab. Students are matched with local organizations working on social justice and systems transformation. This apprenticeship serves as the applied fieldwork component of the program, where students synthesize and apply the knowledge gained in their other courses - Systems Thinking for Social Change, Human Rights in Global Context - to address complex challenges. Through their professional work plan and mentorship, reflective practice and asset-based approaches to community development, students apply their learning to real-world contexts. Key deliverables include a community analysis presentation, a personal changemaker impact plan and a report from their mentor. May satisfy major requirement, depending on major. No prerequisite.
