An examination of society¿s production and consumption of energy, with an emphasis on renewables, and how it is affected by the distribution of energy resources and other social, political, and economic factors. Special consideration is given to the spatial organization of the U.S. energy system and its impact on the landscape, current energy uses, and sustainable energy futures.
