An examination of the threatening forces of nature, including severe weather, heat waves, wildfires, droughts, floods, and how society enhances and responds to hazards. The course will emphasize hazards in the context of climate change, as well as risk and emergency management strategies to protect people against the adverse impacts of natural hazards.
