PHIL 1461 - EPISTEMOLOGY - THEORY OF KNOWLEDGEMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The course will begin with some basic problems in epistemology that were discussed by the ancient Greek Philosopher Plato then skip to the 17th century to the theories of Descartes, Locke, Leibniz and Berkeley who set the stage for the discussion in its modern form. Finally, some major epistemological theories of the twentieth century will be examined along with issues in the epistemology of religious belief as discussed by Roy Clouser.
