BIOL 1140 - CANCER BIOLOGYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course will provide a comprehensive overview of the biology of cancer. The course will focus on understanding the cellular and molecular origins and changes involved in cancer development. We will study the role of genetic mutations and cell signaling involved in cancer progression and metastasis. We will discover the biology of tumor progression through oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, invasion and metastasis. Classical treatment methods, as well as the current therapies and drug discoveries of cancer therapeutics, will be investigated.
