PSY 1570 - HISTORY AND SYSTEMS OF PSYCHOLOGYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Designed as an interdisciplinary examination of the evolution of the field of psychology. Time is spent on obtaining a solid understanding of the philosophical underpinnings of the discipline of psychology. From the early Greek philosophers on the early emerging discipline of psychology is examined by tracing the development and historical lineage of different schools of thought up to the modern era. Emphasis is on the relationship of psychology to the fields of history and philosophy, and how schools of thought fit into empiricist and rationalist traditions.
