CHEM 1133 - SYNTHESIS & CHARACTERIZATION LABMinimum Credits: 1 Maximum Credits: 1 Laboratory focuses on various methods used to prepare and characterize organic and inorganic species. Representative examples of transition metal coordination complexes, organo metallic and main group compounds and organic compounds with medicinal applications are prepared & characterized. Spectroscopic, electrochemical and physical methods are employed to examine reaction kinetics, study molecular dynamics and for structural characterization. Equal emphasis on theory and application. Selected preparations from the current organic, medicinal and inorganic literature are included.
