GEOL 1090 - GEOCHEMISTRYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Geochemistry is an interdisciplinary subject that explores the common ground between the more traditional subject of chemistry and geology. In this context, the purpose of this course is to examine the chemistry of natural waters (both surface and subsurface), radiogenic isotopes, and trace element partitioning through the application of thermodynamic and kinetic models of geologic environments at low to moderate temperatures. The basic objective is to gain a more broad understanding of how chemical reactions control geologic processes. Academic Career: Undergraduate Course Component: Lecture Grade Component: Letter Grade Course Requirements: PREQ: GEOL 0200
