JAC 1150 - SOCIOLOGY OF LAWMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course is designed to introduce students to the sociological study of the law and legal institutions through an exploration of legal culture and the rule of law. The purpose of the course is to gain an understanding of how scholars have examined law-related phenomena to increase the understanding of broader social and cultural issues that influence the law and are influenced by the law. Students will be expected to gain an appreciation of the law as a complex, dynamic process that is part of the culture and society in which it exists.
